  Form letter it plans to send to ISPs warning of suspected illegal P2P activity by individuals asks that they "remove or disable access to the unauthorized music" while still retaining their right to sue individual users it identifies. With the file-sharing community still abuzz after recent news that the RIAA has decided to quit targeting individual file-sharers and instead target them en masse at the ISP level, its interesting to discover a copy of the form letter that it plans to disseminate. Its pretty straightforward, but the tone of the letter again reaffirms the concern of myself and others that its request that ISPs "remove or disable access to the unauthorized music" entails a very serious repercussion - loss of online connectivity - without the due diligence of verifying the submitted evidence in a court of law. With the Internet having become the primary source of education and communication, we shouldnt allow it to be stripped away so easily. According to The NPD Group, a leading global market research company for the entertainment industry, consumer demand for music among US Internet users fell 2% from this time last year. It also estimates that CD purchases declined by 19% in the same period. The most dramatic decrease was among teens, down 34%, and among adults age 26 to 35, down 36%. CD purchases by adults age 36 and older showed a more moderate decline of 10%.
